The ELBERT Series superbly balances smooth contours and sharp, distinct angles, creating an exquisitely ergonomic handle. Forged from high-alloy German X50CrMoV15 steel, the semi-bolster design is well-balanced, and the beautiful, single mosaic rivet secures the handle to the knife's full tang. Precise heat treatment ensures the blade is razor sharp with exceptional edge retention.

Ergonomically designed handles provide an easy and comfortable grip. The well-balanced handle pairs tastefully with the signature single mosaic rivet.
Handcrafted full-tang knives forged from tight-grained X50CrMoV15 German Steel for incredible durability, stain resistance, and exceptional edge retention.
Each blade goes through our proprietary ULTRA6 heat treatment, ensuring every blade maintains its strength and function. Hand sharpened to a 16-degree angle per side. HRC 58 +/- 2 on the Rockwell Hardness Scale.
NSF Certified. Lifetime Warranty against manufacturer defects. Wash knives with warm water and a little detergent, rinse carefully, and dry with a towel.

Beautiful Knife Set, but handles defective twice
I love the look and feel of this set and the knives are very sharp. Twice now I've had issues with the handles developing hairline cracks on the paring knife and serrated knife. I take very good care of them and only handwash and dry. I understand there is a lifetime manufacturing warranty, but I'd prefer that the product handles held up better!

Good knives but the handles are developing cracks
First off, I like this 12-piece set a lot - just the right size for my modestly sized kitchen. The knives are sharp, and good looking (mine are the black color handles). They also have a good weight and feel good in your hand.
But like a couple of other reviews I now see, the handles on 8 of the 9 knives have developed cracks starting from the single rivet and spreading radially around the handle. It appears like the handles are literally coming apart. I don't know what the handle material is - some plastic or fiberglass composite? Whatever it is, it doesn't appear to be very durable.

A great starter set
I really like this set since it has all the essentials for a starter set. Since I was looking for a starter set I didn’t want to buy knives that I knew wouldn’t be used very often. It’s tricky because it seems most sets you jump from 6/7 pieces to 16 so you end up needing more knives or have ones you will rarely if ever use, not the case with this set. Almost every knife will get used. The only piece I wanted to add/replace was the santoku. I'm not sure why it's in virtually every knife set, but I changed it out with a 6" chefs knife and have been a big fan. The knives come sharp out of the box cut and look great. I would definitely recommend this set to anyone just starting out in life.
